Mylie is amazing! She helped me with something a midwife of 25 years didn’t even know. My midwife dropped me 3 months before my baby was due. She said I was high risk. So my husband and I were left on our own. We bought a tub to do a water birth and expected everything to be fine. The day finally came. My water broke, contractions came, I pushed but baby didn’t want to come. I kept pushing and knew something was wrong. I didn’t know what, and my husband for sure hadn’t a clue. So, despite my pride and preparation for doing it on my own, I told my husband to call Mylie. Mylie was a friend of my sister-in-law and mentioned she was willing to help if I wanted her to. I just pushed the offer aside thinking I was fine on my own. I had delivered six children before! I’m sure I can do this on my own. But when that moment came that I knew something wasn’t right, I remembered her offer and frantically told my husband to call praying that she would be available. She doesn’t live too far away from me, but I swear she was there in less than a minute! She had me turn (I was in the pool), she did something, talked calmly and told me to push. In two pushes my baby girl was out. Ends up that she wanted to come out military style (forehead first) just like her brother before her. But, unlike my previous midwife that freaked out when my son was in that position and made me keep pushing, tearing and then not able to walk for a week after and so weak from pushing for so long and so hard that I couldn’t even hold my baby for a few hours after, Mylie saw and recognized what was going on, calmly reached in and pushed something that made my baby’s chin down which caused my baby to then be in the correct position and she came out easily. I was able to hold her right after and walk with no problem. I didn’t even tear. I was so very grateful for Mylie and her knowledge. I literally couldn’t have done it without her. She is very caring, calm, gentle, knowledgeable, wise and a great person to have when you choose to have a midwife. I highly, highly recommend Mylie.
